Earlier this week we were in B&N when I came across the most beautiful cover for Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales. Brad said it looked like a Sufjan cover, I defitely agree. The image above doesn’t do it justice, you MUST see it in person. Especially so that you can see the back cover and flaps. I rushed home and looked up the artist and was pleasantly surprised to see that he lives here in Chicago! Anders Nilsen is the illustrator and he’s absolutely fantastic. His work is so dreamy and beautiful.

I’ve definitely delayed posting about this for no reason at all. I received The Indie Rock Coloring Book in the mail about 3 weeks ago and have had a lot of time to get coloring. All of the sites that sell this book are very vague about which bands are featured in this lovely coloring bible. However, I will not be vague. The bands/artists included are Devendra Banhart, Rilo Kiley, The New Pornographers, The Shins, Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Iron & Wine, MGMT, Stars, Laura Veirs, Bloc Party, The National, Andrew Bird, Wolf Parade, The Dears, The Magic Numbers, The Tallest Man on Earth, Au Revoir Simone, Wolfmother, Joseph Arthur, Holly Throsby, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, King Creosote, Hayden, Sunset Rubdown, My Brightest Diamond, Elvis Perkins and Noah and the Whale.

The best part about The Indie Rock Coloring Book is that all procedes go to the Yellow Bird Project!
