Earlier this week we were in B&N when I came across the most beautiful cover for Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales. Brad said it looked like a Sufjan cover, I defitely agree. The image above doesn’t do it justice, you MUST see it in person. Especially so that you can see the back cover and flaps. I rushed home and looked up the artist and was pleasantly surprised to see that he lives here in Chicago! Anders Nilsen is the illustrator and he’s absolutely fantastic. His work is so dreamy and beautiful.

Here it is! The most updated list of my favorite Swedish bands, artists and musicians. I hope this will bring you all to love Sweden as much as I do. Have any other Swedish artists to recommend? Sweden seems to breed so many great ones already, I can’t wait to see how many more emerge in 2010!

I’m speachless. This is new Sufjan. Yes I said NEW Sufjan live from Ithaca, NY recently. It’s hard to even recognize this as the Sufjan we last heard four years ago. Nonetheless, exciting!
